Hair Tutorial: Cute, Quick, Side Braid

Happy Monday!

Today I want to share with you my go-to hairstyle for everyday. Its a french side braid starting about half way down on the head so that its quick, but it holds hair in place, especially when its shorter like mine is right now.

Start by brushing through your hair so there are no tangles and parting it on one side.

Add whatever styling products you want. I was on second day hair so I used some of this Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo and some Garnier Fructis anti-frizz serum.

Brush all of your hair to the side of your head opposite your part.

Separate a section of hair, a little less than the top half of your hair, separate into three sections, and cross each side over the center once.

Add a piece of hair to each side and braid again.

Continue adding pieces and braiding until you have no more hair left to addIMG_8614

Keep braiding until you get to the end of your hair and tie your braid off with a hairtie.

Spray with hairspray wherever you think your hair will need a little extra hold.

And you’re done!

I have a funny story about this hairstyle. I saw Amy Pond’s hairstyle at her and Rory’s anniversary party in the episode The Power of Three and I thought it was this braid. I rewatched the episode recently and saw that her hairstyle is completely different. So I can’t say that this is a recreation of her hairstyle, but it was inspired by that episode, flawed as that inspiration may be haha.

Have a great day!
